Bway LaChanze Ashanti cast signed WIZ Encores poster

Grammy winner Ashanti, Orlando Jones (Drumline, Office Space) and LaChanze (Tony winner for The Color Purple) are among the stars who have signed this green, red (poppies) and yellow (brick road) standard size 14″ x 22″ poster/windowcard from the 2009 City Center’s Summer Stars Encores! production of THE WIZ. Based, obviously, on Frank L. Baum’s books and the classic 1939 film, the original production of William F. Brown and Charlie Smalls’ musical was one of the first large-scale Broadway musicals with an all black cast. Opening in 1974, it ran for four years and eventually became a less successful film with Diana Ross and Michael Jackson. Please note that the signature placement on each poster is not necessarily identical to those in the one photographed. Happy bidding.
